2003 Christmas Party
The Party was held at Sunset Hills Country Club.
There were over 250 people in attendance.
The club inducted 10 new Paul Harris Fellows.

Pedaling for Polio Plus
Gerry Schuetzenhofer gave an update on the Pedaling for Polio Plus Bike Ride.
As of today, the club has collected over $7,000. After expenses we made $5,810.
There are still some outstanding pledges so Gerry hopes to clear $6,000.
The club has pledged $10,000 to Polio Plus over 3 years. This puts us ahead of schedule.
We will be doing this again and hope to expand next year.
We had 34 riders and many volunters.

On Saturday (27 Sept 03) we had our Pedaling for Polio Plus bike ride. We had 34 riders and many volunters. A good turn out for our first attempt.

The GSE Team from Argentina will be here from 23 Apr till 25 Apr, 2003.
They will be the program on Thursday, 24 April 2003.
The team members are:
Macarena Lucero Schmidt, age 27, Professor of International Relations with a Masters Degree in International Relations. She worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Commerce and Culture, North American Division. Research on Argentine-United States-Canada Foreign policy agenda topics. She is currently working as a Consultant in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Education Area and the implementation of Secondary Schools.
Gerado Dorado, age 38, Lawyer, with a Masters Degree in Business Law. He works for Carballo and Associates in Business Law and Consumers Protection inssues. He shows a great interest in the cinema, literature, and the enriching experience gained from traveling.
Carlos Damian Floricich, age 31, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He is the General Manager at Diagonal Express, a Postal Service Company.
Silvana Beatriz Frias, age 39, University Professor in Visual Arts and Restoration and Conservation of Art. She has done restoration projects in many churches and has done work for the Marriott Plaza Hotel and the United States Embassy in Buenos Aires.
The team leader is Henrique Douglas Earnshaw Smiles, age 62, Agricultural Entrepreneur.

Starting next month (Feb 03) we are going to re-institute the Careers in a Nutshell at the first meeting of the month.
The first name greeter will give a 5 minute, or less, talk about their job.
It can be about their workplace, something that happened that was work related, or about something they have done during their career.

Today is the 15th Citrus Sale Kickoff.
In 1987, we sold 1,237 cases for $22,991.00
In 2001, we sold 2,335 cases for $56,304.50
Thru 2001, we have collected $700,169.84
The goal for 2002 is $65,000 sold for a profit of $30,000.00
If the profit goal is met, Ed Rodney (Captain Orange) has promised to dye his hair orange and walk down Main Street.
If we make $35,000. Ed has promised to get a "Flat top" hair cut, dye it orange and walk down Main Street.
He made no commitments regarding doing it in a "speedo."
